Code&  Documentation Sprint @ University College Ghent – Belgium

On Wednesday the 18th and Thursday the 19th of August several members of the Chamilo 2.0 community met in Ghent (Belgium). The aim of this two-day meeting was twofold:

– brainstorming session on the Chamilo documentation system

– development session on the rolls and rights system in Chamilo 2.0.

In these sessions the basis was laid for the extension of the 2.0 rolls and rights system, making it possible to create rolls and assign rights in a flexible way.

Furthermore agreement was reached on how to build up the online documentation and the embedded help system for the Chamilo software. The Chamilo 2.0 developers are going to develop a new application making it possible to add documentation online, to translate it and to link it to your own Chamilo installation.

More news on this shortly!
Developing in Chamilo 2.0

We recently added the possibility to link Chamilo 2.0's internal repository to various external repositories like YouTube, Google Docs and Flickr. This kind of framework creates a lot of opportunities  for additional links and on top of that it's an ideal case for new interested developers to get involved with the project. For more information on this new framework and for an article on rights management in Chamilo 2.0, check the chamilo.org website!
